Allison's unique combination of blues, jazz and folk and his legendary wit have earned him the admiration of many musicians, including Tom Waits, Van Morrison and George Fame. Early in his career he was an insider's hero, but it was at Atlantic, from 1961, that he became a fully-fledged cult figure who has remained influential, popular and cool for more than four decades.
