The fourth Blue Note album by 19-year-old trumpet phenomenon Morgan recorded in August 1957 was wisely stacked with tunes written and arranged by the brilliant Benny Golson.
The charts and the playing by the entire stellar sextet are superb, uplifting it beyond most of the generally excellent jam session sets of the period and Morgan is in typically punchy form.
