Johnny Griffin was one of the fastest, sharpest tenor saxophonists to emerge in the fertile fifties. His third and final Blue Note album is one of handful that sported a cover illustration by then struggling artist Andy Warhol.
This 1957 quartet date is a near-classic featuring Sonny Clark in an at times exuberant on the up-tempo numbers, thoughtful on the ballads and swinging throughout.
