The first of several albums recorded live at The Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach in 1962, this was the Jazz Crusaders third album and the one that put them on the map, thanks largely to Congolese Sermon and Weather Beat.
The tenor / trombone combination gave them a trademark sound and their mix of R&B, Memphis soul and jazz attracted a large and loyal following throughout the 60's.
Exciting live performers, 'At The Lighthouse' remains as the best example of their music, along with a bonus track of Sample's never previously released Penny Blue and an extended version of Felder's Boopie.
