One of the most popular solo artists of the 1950s and 60s, Shore was already a big TV star when she cut this album in 1960, her second with Previn.
Something of a concept album on a par with Sinatra’s, she positively smolders her way through a collection of classy standards and ballads, six of which a just voice and piano.. Although it didn’t sell well at the time (by Shore’s standards) it remains something of a lost gem.
